A few days ago I received email notification from Kentucky Christian University that one of my former professors, Dr. Donald A. Nash, had passed away at the age of 90. Dr. Nash taught Greek, The Book of Acts, The Book of Revelation and 1 and 2 Corinthians during my stint at college. He was a prolific writer for The Christian Standard, held hundreds of revival meetings and preached each Sunday at a local church. He also authored several books, He was a brilliant man. But he was also a very approachable man. While I only took one semester of Greek, those students who took the class for a couple of years often found themselves going to lunch with Dr. Nash at one of the local eating establishments. It wasn't part of the class regimen: it was just a man of God grooming the next generation of servants to go out into the world. As I mentioned, I only took one semester of Greek. Since Greek was "the" subject for Dr. Nash I didn't think that I held any real stature in his eyes. Imagine my surprise when, 12 years after my graduation, I visited the college. I ran into Dr. Nash and he asked me, by name, how my ministry was going. I told him that I was now in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He said that he knew that. He also said that he knew I had served as a youth minister in Kentucky and a small church in Hopedale, Ohio! When I asked how he knew that, Dr. Nash said, "I make it a point to know what is going on with every preacher that graduates from this school!" Why am I telling you all of this? Because the world has a real dearth of truly great men that walks in it. It has a much smaller number of truly godly men. I just wanted to let you know that I knew one of them. See you soon.
