It is almost time for it’s “The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (my second favorite Peanuts special).  At one point in the show, Charlie Brown is out Trick-or-Treating with his pals.  After each stop the gang pauses to review their treasures.  "I got some gum!" shouts one.  Another costumed kid announces "I got a popcorn ball!"  Charlie Brown moans, "I got a rock!"  After each house it is the same: the other kids get candy--Charlie Brown gets a rock.  The creator of Peanuts, Charles Schultz, says that so many viewers were upset by this scene that his studio was overwhelmed with gifts of candy for poor 'ol Charlie Brown.  There are lots of Charlie Browns in this world.  People who are ignored, mocked, ridiculed and forgotten.  Everyone seems out to get them.

Everybody except One.

4-Jesus once described His ministry with these words:  Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see:

5-The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy] are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor (Matthew 11:4-5)

I love that passage because so many of the "forgotten" people of this world are specifically mentioned as people Jesus came to reach.

One of the greatest lies Satan whispers in our ears is that we are nobodies ...that no one really cares about us and no one would ever miss us if we were gone.

That is a lie!  The very Son of God came looking for people like that (you).  He not only wants you to know that He loves you; He wants you to be with Him forever in Heaven.

If you want to know how that is possible, come see us at Rose Hill some Sunday.  Or drop me an email at this site.  I'll be happy to get right back to you so that you can meet that One who thinks you're special.

See you soon!
