Ladies Fellowship - Back In Session PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 30 August 2010 14:17

After a summer break, the Ladies are back in session in September.  The Make, Bake and Grow auction is less than 6 weeks away!!  Start getting ready!!  For those of you who aren’t familiar with this; the auction is the Ladies fundraiser for our fellowship group.  These funds help sponsor a child from the group Christianville.  They also help to do things around the church, buy decorations, and help fund banquets and special events.

So you can make something (crafts, quilting, canning, knit, crochet, etc), bake something (cakes, pies, fudge, cookies, APPLE DUMPLINGS ;) wink, wink), or grow something (potted flowers or plants, dried flower arrangement, something you grew and canned, etc).  Then we’ll auction everything off.  Great to get started early on your Christmas shopping.  We will also be electing officers for 2011, so if you are looking to serve, this may be the place.  We will be electing a Chairman, Recorder and Treasurer.  If you are interested, see Carla.

Upcoming Events:
9/11 – Kitchen cleaning 10:00 a.m.
9/16 – Meeting 6:00 p.m. at the church
9/25 – Fall Harvest Weiner Roast/Hayride
10/2 – Clean the yellow room upstairs 10:00 a.m.
10/14 – MAKE BAKE & GROW AUCTION 6:00 p.m.

I Can't Believe People Still Do Not Believe PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 30 July 2010 11:51

I can’t believe that there are still people who do not believe in God.  Our family recently took a trip to the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.  We went to Clingmans Dome, the highest point in Tennessee.  Breathtaking!  God’s majesty!   And yet people still don’t believe.  They say it all started with a big bang.  Call it what you will, but it still had to be molded and made beautiful.  It was molded and made beautiful by the hands of God.  Time and erosion do not make things as beautiful as they are, such as the Smokey Mountains, the Grand Canyon, and Niagara Falls.  Let me tell you, I had a big bang in my kitchen once.  Did you ever put anything in a pressure cooker and have it explode?  Well I did.  It was a pot of beans.  Imagine a big bang of beans exploding on your kitchen ceiling!  Time and erosion is only going to make it moldy and crusty!  Ladies, I believe we are going to have an explosion at Rose Hill.  A spiritual explosion and with the help of our Lord and Savior we can help mold it and make it beautiful.  Our meetings start back up in September.  See YOU then!

Upcoming Events

8/7 – VBS
8/15 – Live Nativity Planning/Luau Potluck
9/11 – Finish cleaning Kitchen 10:00 a.m.
9/16 – Meeting 6:00 p.m.

Ladies Fellowship May 2010 PDF Print E-mail

One day while driving, I heard on the radio that while most people believe in God, the majority of younger people today do not consider themselves religious but they do consider themselves spiritual.  I always thought they were the same, but I was schooled on the matter.  Today, religious means living within religious boundaries and spiritual means freedom to explore religion with no boundaries.

Ladies April Activity PDF Print E-mail

zeal -  (noun) fervor for a person, cause or object; eager desire or endeavor; enthusiastic diligence, ardor.  Synonyms: Intensity, passion.

Romans 12:11 - Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

Ladies, all that we do and strive to do around the Church and community is serving the Lord.  We must have a passion for it and "never be lacking zeal" and do so with a cheerful heart.  I feel blessed to serve with the Ladies of Rose Hill, because they serve with intensity and passion.  I invite all the Ladies of Rose Hill to experience this blessing.

While John and I were visiting other churches, trying to find something closer to home, one of the things I really missed about Rose hill was the Ladies group.  Oh, almost every place we visited had Ladies groups. But not like Rose hill.  They seemed to be too formal and “political”, for lack of a better word.  Not at Rose hill.  Here, you’re sitting down with your sisters, catching up, laughing, and planning future family get together, just like at home.  We felt that the Lord was telling us that our place was at Rose hill and it didn’t matter how much gas cost, He would provide.  It’s been over a year now since we’ve been back.  It sure is good to be home!
