Another year has passed the Rose Hill Church of Christ.  As the lone Deacon I must confess there are times when church responsibilities can bring an overwhelming sense of joy and satisfaction but also fatigue.  With that said, I owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to several people who stepped up to the plate and helped accomplish a multitude of church maintenance and improvements this past year.  The following list is the betterments performed in 2009 and a grand shout of appreciation for those who helped.

·                     weeds and saplings removed from the air-conditioning pit

·                     flowers planted around security light pole

· common ground maintenance (mowing, trimming, etc)

·                     sponsor and “logistical” support for the Deacons’ Easter breakfast

·                     huts were repaired and improved for the Live Nativity

·                     weeds and grass killed on driveway leading to back acreage

·                     new oak cross for Live Nativity

·                     barn rewired to code

·                     repair of spouting on west side of church

Future goals include a new roof, sealing of parking lot (bids are being researched), re-zoning of back acreage to agricultural and forestry management status to allay property tax disbursements (a farmer is taking hay from the field), and a strawberry patch to replace the flowers around the security light pole. (I’m a romantic; it’s for children to pick strawberries for mom)

As always, I am deeply appreciative of the board for their support in the maintenance of the church grounds.  There would be no maintenance without them.

Peace

Paul

Deacon
