Time is an amazing concept. Fundamentally speaking it has to do with the oscillation of an element called cesium. So many oscillations of the cesium atom equal a second of time. From seconds come minutes; from minutes come hours; from hours come days; from days come weeks, then months, then years and it goes on. When you are young, time is fluid and unrestrained. As you get older it becomes more dense and constrained. At age 50 I am becoming more and more cognizant of time with its provisions and restrictions. I am just now beginning to really appreciate how valuable it is and how at any given moment it can be taken away without notice. God’s word says to live each day as it comes because tomorrow is not a guarantee. Tell your family you love them. Tell your brothers and sisters in Christ how much they mean to you. Hug a friend. And if I could suggest something…. make time to watch a sunrise with someone you love very much. It’s amazing. |
