I’m excited!!  There will be two more Deacons at Rose Hill come next week (providing the congregation confirms their desire to serve).  I’ve been a solo act for a while and to tell the truth it’s been exhausting.  Now, there will be those who will think: exhausted?  What did he do that was so exhausting?  I’m not going to answer that because if I do, it will draw attention to me, myself, and I and I DO NOT want to do that.  It is an unfortunate condition of people that they do not always see the ‘small’ things that people do in an organization.  That is what Deacons do; they do small but very important things.  If I answered what I did to become exhausted, it would sound like, “Look at me.  Look at the things I do.”  Jesus told his followers to pray while in their closet so as not to be seen by men.  As a Deacon, I am called not to be seen by men.  I am called to serve in obscurity.  However, it will be nice to be obscure with two new servants.
